Skimming makes up a considerable amount of our work and is the application of a thin coat of finish plaster over the existing wall to give a smooth surface for re-decorating, often we are called in solely to apply plaster to already boarded areas and rooms, this has the advantage of saving money for customers that have done this work themselves and providing that the work has been done correctly will be just as good as if you had the plasterer do his own boarding, though you will get less by way of a guarantee from the plasterer in when it comes to cracking, often caused by incorrect or badly boarded areas:
